1997C ID Code: SHEBA - Seattle Onset of snow melt:
29 May |
![]() Time series of ice mass balance and temperature. The top panel is air temperature and the bottom panel upper ocean temperature. The middle panel displays the internal ice temperature using color contours, with blue being cold and red warm. The gray shaded area represents snow depth, black areas are missing data, the dark blue represents the ocean, the boundary between red and dark blue denotes the ice-ocean interface, and the red-white boundary is the ice-air interface. |

| Download data: All archived data files are formatted as comma separated variables Position file: Date (mm/dd/yyyy HH:mm), latitude (decimal degrees), and longitude (decimal degrees). Temperature profile file: Line 1 has the buoy name and ID code. Line 2 has depths of temperature sensors. All subsequent lines have date (mm/dd/yyyy HH:mm) and temperatures (oC) as a function of depth. Mass balance file: Line 1 has the buoyname. Line 2 has headers for summary statistics. Line 3 has summary statistics. Line 4 has metadata. Line 5 has column headers and subsequent lines have date (mm/dd/yyyy HH:mm), position of surface, and position of bottom. These positions can be used to compute snow depth, ice thickness, ice growth, and surface and bottom melt. |
